Scandia Ribbon Project

Happy January! I just wanted to share these traditional dish towels ornamented with my new Renaissance Ribbon. They were designed to coordinate with the new FreeSpirit Scandia fabric.

Such a classic domestic object never goes out of style. The ribbon really enhances the folky farmhouse feeling that blue and white always evokes.

I have included this picture of all the Scandia fabrics to get your imagination kick started for other sewing and decorating projects. Perfect for St. Valentine’s Day, don’t you think?

Love, love, love!!! Time to build up my ribbon stash, I see.

I love the towel idea. But where do you get the blank towels. It seems that all the towels in the stores are already decorated with something.

Mary, just keep your eyes open. Some quilt stores are carrying towels for machine embroidery projects. Dollar stores and outlet shops can often have some surprises, too. Ikea is a great place to find simple things to embellish.

I have a non-sewing Scandinavian friend who would hint loudly that these would look lovely in her home. Wonder where a local supplier might be?

These are stunning! I can just envision a few throw pillows for my sofa trimmed with your new ribbons! Bravo!

I’ve always been a big fan of your work and your ribbons especially, I’m working on a complete set of towels and pillowcases with matching flat sheets for my new master bedroom, when I’m finished I will definitely be posting pictures. The sneak peek of the new fabric line you’re working on with all those frantic organic shapes, looks like it might be your best yet.
