WORKSHOP - New Cloth - Fused Fabric Designs for Fiber Art and Collage
LENGTH - 1 - 2 days
LEVEL-Beginning to advanced
Sewing machine needed for two day class
WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION -
In this class you’ll be making a stack of unique fabrics by designing, cutting and fusing simple shapes onto background fabrics. These graphic designs can be quiet or loud depending on the fabrics you choose to work with. Then we will use them to make a collaged and stitched quilt top.
This course strives to stimulate new ways to add energy and excitement to your fiber work through shapes, pattern and color. It will also supply you with a collection of unique motifs to apply later to your surface design or fiber art.
Students should have a desire to develop their own design language and unique visual symbols, plus an interest in the history of decorative design.
