Season’s Cycle: Spring Tree This new “tree of life” quilt is packed with the energy of new growth and quivering with life. It has many of the symbols that often appear in my work, plus a few new ones. The tree, of course, is an old friend, but this tree also reveals it’s roots. The roots delve into the underworld and the trunk links earth to the heavens. The two halves are nearly mirror images of themselves and stand in front a giant egg, an obvious sign of fertility and immortality. The colors, too, are a play on the pastels of childhood, baby blue and little girl pink.
